- Household Vinegar - Vinegar is another option. This food ingredient is actually very acidic and may kill fungus quickly. Soak your nails in a container of vinegar once or more times a day. Those who have tried this home remedy for nail fungus swear that the nail problem will disappear in a week.

- Common Mouthwash - Mouthwash is also a common home remedy for nail fungus because of its antiseptic properties. You just have to soak your nails in a bowl of mouthwash for a few minutes a day. Some may combine mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide.

- Foot Powder - Foot powder is not really a home remedy for nail fungus but it can stop your condition from getting worse or stop it from recurring once it is cured. Nail fungus grow best when your feet are sweaty. You can prevent moisture from accumulating by applying foot powder on your feet and socks.

- Healthy Diet - Having a good diet should also be considered a home remedy for nail fungus. It is a known fact that individuals who have weak immune systems run the risk of getting infected more than others. You can fortify your body's defenses by eating the right kind of food. Supplement a nutritious diet with exercise to improve your blood circulation.

These home remedies are alternative treatments if standard medications don't work for you. After all, you really have nothing to lose. Do remember though that not every recipe will work for everyone. It may take some time for you to find the right solution.
